"...whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." -Max Erhmann

About the Artwork

As heartwarmingly expressed in "Desiderata," true peace of mind comes through hope, perseverance and faith in life’s beauty. "Desiderata," the Latin term for "desired things" was penned in the 1920s by Max Ehrmann (1872 - 1945), a poet and lawyer from Terre Haute, Indiana. At one time, it was believed to have originated in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Baltimore in the 17th century. Beloved around the globe for its fortifying message, the poem has been a beacon of positivity in countless lives.
